Chinese Mahjong—5 looping gifs
Project completed at Topics: Motion Graphics
Instructor—Shira Inbar

In attempt to experiment with the looping gifs and raising awareness of Mahjong, a traditional Asian gambling game that is commonly played by four players, I illustrated and animated five gifs. The game is usually played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. Mahjong is a game of strategy, calculation and involves a degree of chance. The gifs highlighted the moment of Shuffle, Pong and Reset.

Amazed by the visual patterns and graphic aesthetics of Mahjong,  I think it is a unique process of reviving this ancient game that originated from Qing dynasty (1644-1912).
